Cupcake Dates With My Love

Are the best :) xx

Baby Smiles :)

They just kill me! Too much cuteness! I don't know how Cynthia gets anything done while having such gorgeous kiddos.

As for me, I have the attention span of a flea today and I don't even have any kids to blame...yet. I have a bunch of projects that I am really enjoying but I want to do them all at once, some are for Christmas presents and some are just for fun. However, photo editing and sewing tend to conflict with each other so for now I'm trying to focus on editing photos and not finding anymore cool things to sew.

I'm loving living closer to Chris's school these days and today he was able to come home for lunch which was lovely :) Can't wait for him to be on holidays!

Anyway, better get back to the photos and diddly Irish music (for some reason this is a good combination for me today- probably because it looks like its going to rain).

Lately...

Thought I would update with some of the things we have been up to lately. Today we went to the dedication of this little cutie, it was a beautiful ceremony and the weather was perfect. Still a few photos to edit but these are my favourites so far.

We also celebrated World Teachers Day, and the fantastic contribution this handsome fella makes to the profession :)

Congrats on 6 years of amazing work my love!

And speaking of my love, he is also doing Movember, and sporting a mustache for the rest of the month to help raise awareness and much needed funds for prostate cancer and depression

It would be great if people could financially support this cause :) so log on to http://au.movember.com/mospace/220781/ and give what you can, every bit helps!

I've also been keeping busy with some various sewing projects, majorly stretching my lack of sewing skills and the ability of the internet to tutor me, but it seems to be working so far! I still need to take photos, but I'll post them soon.

Baby Summertime is either practicing somersaults or ninjutsu in there and we can feel movements more often now :) It is such a weird feeling, but awesome at the same time! 19 more weeks to go :)

Is very colourful and filled with baby love :)

Mommy Lullabies

This week our lil babe has been rocking my world to the tune of NO SLEEP! I would love to say I have been the gracious picture of maternal sacrifice, remaining loving and kind to my husband and family but the truth is this momma is cranky! I need my sleep!

However, if this is an indicator of what its going to be like after the baby is born then maybe I should commission someone to record some mommy lullabies, since I don't mind waking up so much its just that my over-active brain will not shut down again to let me sleep. Surely I'm not the only one with this problem? Right??

As for the baby, I reckon some Bob Marley lullabies would be pretty cool, although I wonder if anyone has done a version of The Clash in lullabies...

Going to the zoo

This week has been so cloudy and rainy, so when it finally cleared up on the weekend we jumped in the car and went to the zoo to try and make the most of the only clear skies and finally do some holiday type stuff instead of cleaning and unpacking boxes.

This little guy frightened the life out of me as we came in as I almost stepped on him! So much for the animals staying in their cages...

We watched the otter feeding and show, and now I'm pretty sure Chris wants one as a pet. They were so cute though :)

We also crammed in with what seemed like every single child in the zoo to see the tiger show, they were also adorable and we able to get close up, right near the pool.

They were trying to get the tigers to jump into the water using whatever they could... baskets, toys, and even one of the keepers. That guy is brave, he ended up bleeding...but apparently its normal, well at least that is what they said.

We finished off our afternoon at the zoo visiting the elephants, last time we fed them which sounds good in theory but in reality you end up with a bunch of elephant snot on your hand.. lovely ;) Once again I was reminded of how much I would love to go to Thailand someday to see these gorgeous animals.

And after that it was back home again to relax and rest our (well mostly my) weary legs. This whole being pregnant thing really takes up all your energy!

Baby Love: 15 Weeks and the 'Great Summertime Move of 2010'

This week was a bit of a mad rush. We recently found out that we will not have to go far far away for Chris to teach and do his country service next year (HOORAY!) and so we decided that instead of extending our lease we would just move...within a week. This was Saturday, and on Sunday Chris promptly came down with the flu. Fantastic timing.

Needless to say the week was an insane blur, mainly consisting of doctors visits, rental agents, uni assignments, oh and somewhere in between we needed to pack up and clean our entire house!

Enter stage left... our amazing friends and family :) In particular my Mam and sister came and basically packed up the whole house. Between me being pregnant, trying to complete a major uni assignment, and having a constantly aching back (part pregnancy/part previous car accident) and then Chris was basically bedridden and feeling awful for most of the week, we just wouldn't have been able to do it on our own.

Dad was great at rounding up the troops and on Saturday morning we were really feeling the love when people gave up their sleep in, hooked up their trailers and came to help us move house. I think it was basically done in one trip which was amazing.

We're still in the process of unpacking/organising everything and had some very full on days of cleaning the house (again with my new unpaid help :P ) handing back the keys in a few days so hopefully they will be nice and give us all our bond back.

Oh and if you're wondering where the baby bump pic of the week is...my camera was packed away in some box somewhere so we didn't get one in time. Although stay tuned.. there will be a picture filled post soon :)

Baby Love: 14 Weeks

This week was a fun one, we went to the doctors because I had some dramas with my prac placement for uni (LONG story) but while we were there we were able to hear the baby's heartbeat! It was such a lovely sound, although pretty similar to the sound of a train because it was going so fast but the doctor said it sounded good and healthy :) It was a pretty surreal experience to know that our little baby Summertime's heart has already started beating and will continue to beat for the rest of his or her life! Man we have an amazing creator!

We also had a friends engagement party on the weekend which was great, they are such a lovely couple :) Sadly though I don't think I'll be able to wear dresses like this one for much longer! Hello Baby!

Baby Love: 12 Weeks

Hey Baby,

I can't believe how fast the time is flying! It seems like only yesterday that we found out about you but the weeks have rushed past and I'm 12 weeks pregnant already. Your Daddy and I can't wait to meet you and already have some names in mind for you :) You are very much loved, and someday when you are older I will show you your Dad's reaction to the news that we were having our first baby, he was so excited. I decided to bring him to the place where we got married for a picnic and surprised him with a little present and was able to video the whole thing :)

I hope the rest of this pregnancy goes as quickly as the first part has because I cannot wait to meet you!

All my love xxx

Afternoon Visitor

After uni today we went out for our normal round the block walk to try and wear out Cara and also to try and get back into a bit of a routine of exercise.

However, this little puppy had other plans for our afternoon.

Only a few minutes from home we came across this adorable puppy, who we have since named Buster. She was running around outside a house but there was no one home and some massive dogs in the backyard so we didn't want to risk putting her in there and her getting hurt if it wasn't her home...or the dogs mauling us for that matter.

So we took her home and played in the backyard for a while. She was interested in the chickens but mostly wanted to play fight with Cara, who would then promptly roll over and give up. Poor lil Cara wasn't a match for this chunky puppy, but soon enough the owners called (we left a note) and it was time for Buster to go home. Fare well cute afternoon visitor.

Lone Twirler

Before heading overseas for Christmas we spent a weekend down in Byron with my auntie. There were heaps of people fire twirling, but here is my favourite unedited shot.
